APRIL 2012

On 4/02/12, officers responded to the Westbrook Bowling Alley for a fight in Bpdpatch progress.  AHMED JIMMY NABIL MOHMOD, 29, of Brooklawn, was arrested for disorderly conduct after officers asked him to leave the area.  He was processed and released with a future court date. 

On 4/07/12, a motor vehicle stop was conducted at Rt. 130 South and Browning Rd. The driver, JON PHILLIP MINOR, 23, of Westville, was arrested for obstruction for attempting to give police false information regarding his identity. The suspect was also found to be in possession of marijuana under 50 grams.  He was processed and released with a future court date.

On 4/12/12, officers responded to the Shop Rite in the Brooklawn Shopping Center for a shoplifter.  KIM ELAINE BATES, 54, of Gloucester City, attempted to conceal merchandise in her purse.  She was arrested for shoplifting, processed and released with a future court date.

On 4/12/12, officers responded to the Days Inn on Rt. 130 for a possible burglary.  Upon arrival, a strong odor of raw marijuana was emitting from the room.  ADONNA TERESA ROWE, 23, of Cherry Hill, was found to be in possession of multiple controlled dangerous substances.  Also in the room was KENNETH OMAR COLLINS, 28, of Camden, who was in possession of marijuana less than 50 grams.  The two were arrested and charged with possession of CDS.  They were both processed and released with pending court dates.

On 4/14/12, a motor vehicle stop was conducted at Browning Rd and Kings Highway in Brooklawn.  Through further investigation, the driver, DAWN MARIE AMBROSE, 37, of Bellmawr, was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  She was processed and released to a third party with a pending court date.

On 4/16/12, a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Rt. 130 South in Brooklawn.  During the stop, the passenger of the vehicle, MARISOL RIVERA, 37, of Camden, was found to have an active warrant for her arrest.  She was processed and released after posting bail.

On 4/19/12, a pedestrian stop was conducted at Rt. 130 South and the East Circle. JAMES ANTHONY DEWEES, 31, of Philadelphia, was found to have active warrants for his arrest.  He was processed and released after posting bail.

On 4/21/12, officers responded to the Red Carpet Inn for a report of a found handgun.  When officers arrived on location, they spoke to an employee, who stated that the person who rented the room checked out around 11:00am.  The officer entered the room and observed the handgun under the bed. It was confiscated and brought to police headquarters.

On 4/24/12, a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Rt. 130 North.  During the course of the motor vehicle stop, the driver, GEORGE NABIH GATAS, 42, of West Berlin, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and brought to headquarters, where he was processed and released to a third party with a pending court date. 

On 4/28/12, a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Chestnut Street.  The driver attempted to flee the stop on foot.  Officers pursued him and he was quickly apprehended.  The driver was identified as WARREN DOUGLAS MANNING, 54, of Brooklawn.  He was arrested for driving under the influence, resisting arrest and also given multiple other summonses.  He was processed and released to a third party with a pending court date.

On 4/26/12 DANIEL SEAN CONNELLY, 31, of Brooklawn and FRANKLIN FERRARA JR., 31, of Brooklawn, were arrested for theft, after the two admitted to police about removing scaffolding from a backyard in town.  The two suspects were processed and released with pending court dates.  

 

On 4/27/12, officers responded to the Cash for Gold on Rt. 130 in Brooklawn for a report of an attempted burglary.  Video surveillance shows a white male, wearing all dark clothing walking in the alley between the Cash for Gold and Audubon Fence Co.  Anyone with information regarding this incident, please contact the Brooklawn Police.

On 4/28/12, a motor vehicle stop was conducted at Rt. 130 and Browning Road.  During the course of the motor vehicle stop, the driver, MICHAEL THOMAS CLARK, 44, of Gloucester City, was found to have an active arrest warrant. He was processed and released after posting bail.

MARCH 2012

    On 03/01/12 police responded to One Main Financial, located within the Brooklawn Shopping Center, for a report of an act of fraud.  Through investigation a suspect, identified as Saiff Nottingham age 46 of the 1300 block of S. Bouvier St. Philadelphia, Pa, was positively identified as the actor who committed acts of fraud and forgery by using false information to secure a loan in the amount of $2,413.00.  Nottingham will be charged pending the completion of the investigation.

     On 03/07/12 police, who had received information that a wanted person was staying within room #124 of the Days Inn Hotel, responded to the Days Inn in an attempt to locate the suspect.  Shawn P. Kaye age 42, who was temporarily housed at the Days Inn, was located and taken into custody without incident.  Kaye was wanted out of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, as well as numerous other jurisdictions on outstanding warrants for his arrest.  Kaye was remanded to the Gloucester County Jail to await hearing.

     On 03/08/12 police initiated a motor vehicle stop within the Borough of Brooklawn.  During the course of the motor vehicle stop information revealed the passenger within the vehicle, Latisha L. Fair age 37 of the 2800 block of Mitchell St. Camden, NJ, had an active warrant for her arrest.  Additionally, Fair was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Fair was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and remanded to the Camden County Jail to await hearing.  

     On 03/08/12 David W. Finlaw age 40 of Marathon Dr. Mantua, NJ was arrested on an active warrant for $2,117.00.  Finlaw was released after posting partial bail pending a court hearing.

     On 03/09/12 police were summoned to the American Legion Post 72 for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle.  The victim reports that after exiting the legion he heard the air escaping from both his front and rear drivers’ side tires.   Further investigation revealed both tires had been cut with an unknown object.  Investigation is ongoing as police are awaiting video surveillance tape.

     Police initiated a motor vehicle stop on 03/09/12 at Rt.130 south at the east traffic circle.  Further investigation found the operator of the vehicle, identified as Jose C. Reyes age 20 of Kirkwood Road Gibbsboro, NJ, to be suspected of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DWI.)  Reyes was placed under arrest for suspected DWI, as well as two active warrants for his arrest totaling $1,000.00 full cash bail.  The suspect’s vehicle was impounded per John’s Law.  Reyes was charged with numerous motor vehicle violations including but not limited to: Driving while suspended, DWI, Underage DWI, Careless Driving, and others.  Reyes was processed and released into the custody of a sober, responsible adult as per law.

     On 03/10/12 police observed a vehicle traveling the wrong-way, specifically traveling south bound in the north bound lanes of Rt.130.  After this vehicle entered into the east traffic circle (and onto the correct side of the roadway) police initiated a motor vehicle stop.  Subsequent investigation found the operator, identified as Ronald K. Dagenais Jr age 41 of Braisington Drive Bellmawr, NJ, to be suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.  Dagenais was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with DWI, Driving the Wrong Way on a One Way street, and Careless Driving.  His vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law, and after processing, Dagenais was released into the custody of a sober, responsible adult as per law. 

     On 03/13/12 police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Kings Highway within the Borough of Brooklawn.  During the course of the investigation the operator of one of the vehicles involved was determined to be operating while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.  Joseph J. Miller age 46 of Beechwood Place Gloucester City, NJ, was placed under arrest for suspected DWI and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and then released into the custody of a sober, responsible adult as per law.  His vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.  Miller was issued multiple summonses pending a municipal court appearance. 

     On 3/19/12 police responded to the Citgo Gas Station located on Rt.130 south for a report of a theft of gasoline.  It was reported by employees a black female driver and black male passenger operating a silver vehicle with a partial New Jersey registration of M50, had received $58.00 worth of fuel and fled.  Through further investigation the vehicle and the subjects were also identified as suspects in a shoplifting which occurred within the Borough of Mt. Ephraim on this same date.  Officers of both Brooklawn and Mt. Ephraim were able to identify the registered owner of the vehicle, Colleen Mulholland age 47 of Circle Ct. Mullica Hill, NJ.  Charges are pending the conclusion of the investigation.

     On 3/20/12 police received a report from a passer-by that a subject was removing the outdoor benches from in front of Gaetanos Restaurant located at Rt.130 and Browning Roads.  Upon arrival officers observed two of the three benches had been removed from their moorings.  As officers were conducting a check of the building, a vehicle and subject could be observed across Rt.130 in the lower lot of the Metro Diner.  This subject appeared to be loading benches (matching the appearance of the missing benches) into the rear of his vehicle.  At the same time the subject was observed the passer-by who notified police pulled up and advised officers “that was him”, meaning the subject originally reported to police.  Chris Rossi age 49 of James Street in Mt. Ephraim, NJ was found to be in possession of the two stolen benches from Gaetanos.  Rossi was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Theft and Criminal Mischief.  Rossi was released with a pending CJP date. 

     On 3/21/12 police responded to the Rite Aid for a report of a shoplifting.  It was reported a white male approximately 30-40 y/o with a bald head, unshaven attempted to leave the store with a box of Crest White Strips.  The suspect dropped the box of white strips on the way out, and fled into a silver SUV type vehicle.  Police are awaiting video for review.

     On 3/22/12 police took Allen M. Smith age 46 of the 1200 block of Carl Miller Blvd (aka Van Hook Street) Camden, NJ, into custody, after being summoned to Brown’s Shop Rite for a report of a shoplifter in custody.  Loss Prevention witnessed Smith attempt to leave the store with $45.82 worth of detergent.  Smith was found to have an active warrant for his arrest for $500.00 full cash bail.  Smith was remanded to the county jail in default of the bail and to await hearing in Brooklawn Municipal Court for the theft.  

     On 03/24/12 police responded to the 200 block of 5th street for report of a found burglary.  The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours unknown actor(s) entered his work shed located within the rear of the property and removed a rotary engine for a vehicle valued at $3,000.00.  A suspect has been developed in this case and the investigation is ongoing.

     On 03/26/12 police arrested Philip “The Hammer” Badyna age 42 of the 500 block of Stevens Street Camden, NJ for Disorderly Conduct.  Badyna was charged after becoming disorderly with the Brooklawn Ambulance Squad while in the rear of the ambulance.  He was released on a summons pending a municipal court appearance.

     On 03/26/12 police responded to the Rite Aid for a report of a shoplifter in custody.  Deborah A. Harrington age 45 of the 800 block of Chestnut Street Camden, NJ was taken into custody after loss prevention observed Harrington concealing three boxes of laundry detergent valued at $48.00.  Harrington was processed and released on a summons pending a municipal court appearance.  

     On 03/27/12 police received a report of a found burglary within the 200 block of Bergen Street.  Unknown actor(s) had removed copper piping from the home valued at approximately $1,500.00.  Investigation is ongoing.

     On 03/27/12 Brooklawn Police arrested Daniel R. Sim age 19 of 8th Ave Pitman, NJ for Disturbing the Peace and Good Order after creating a disturbance within the parking lot of Brown’s Shop Rite.  Sim was brought to police headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons pending a municipal court appearance.

     On 3/28/12 police responded to Brown’s Shop Rite for a report of a shoplifter in custody.  Robert A. McNabb age 34 of the 400 block of West Browning Road Bellmawr, NJ was arrested for shoplifting after loss prevention observed McNabb concealing multiple food items upon his person value at $46.00.  McNabb was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released on a summons with a pending municipal court appearance.

     On 3/29/12 police responded to the Brooklawn Court Apartments for a reported disturbance.  Matthew V. Grant age 28 of the 2000 block of Henberger St. Philadelphia, Pa was taken into custody and charged with Disturbing the Peace and Good Order after having been ordered several times by police to cease his disruptive behavior.  Grant was processed and released on a summons with a future municipal court appearance date.

     On 3/31/12 officers responded to 100 Timber Blvd for a report of a house fire.  Upon arrival Officer J. Gundle observed the kitchen area to be filled with smoke and flames.  Ofc. Gundle used a garden hose to douse the flames until fire department personnel arrived and could take over.  There were no reported injuries and the rest of home was saved despite some smoke and water damage.
