(cnbnews.net)This Saturday, May 26th is the amazing Collingswood May Fair! This yearly event is widely recognized as one of the top South Jersey town festivals… And this year, Meandering Mark is part of the entertainment!
What started out in 1979 as a small art event, has grown to over a mile of fun things to see and do, with more crafters, more food, more entertainment, more antique cars… then probably any other town festival in South Jersey.
From the Collingswood Mayfair website;
An estimated 50,000 people attended the 2011 event which was expanded to include more blocks and attractions. 200+ artists and crafters will display and sell their unique creations in a juried show. Children will have their day of fun in the “KidZone” featuring pony rides, carnival games, rides and children-friendly crafters.
Another measurement of the size and success of this event, is while most towns have a one or two stages for performances… Collingswood has FIVE… all jam packed with live entertainment.
And this year, I get to be in the action, performing with my band Zipper at Stage 1, located down by the car show. My last performance!
If you didn’t know about my band life… Several years ago I used to be a much more active blogger, focusing on developments in Bellmawr. I was blogging for the Courier Post and at times on my own sites. Around 2008 I somehow found myself in a bar cover band, and the time to blog dried up.
Well, after 4 years, its time to move on to something else, so the Mayfair will be my last performance with the Zipper.
So if you have nothing planned this weekend, come out to the amazing Collingswood MayFair. If you are really adventurous, stop down by the car show to see me and Zipper at 12:45 and 2:30pm.
