and Celebrates the Safe return from overseas of a Third Officer
On February 27th, 2012 Gloucester Twp. Police Chief Harry Earle introduced residents, gathered at the bi-monthly meeting of the Township Council, to their two newest Police Officers, Jeremie McCall and Alexander Maldonado. They were both previously employed by the Trenton, NJ police department.
Chief Earle welcomed both officers to the Department by presenting them with copies of the department’s mission statement and departmental “challenge coins” emblazoned with the words “compassion, courage, honesty, respect, fairness, and integrity”. Chief Earle stated that these were words that all Gloucester Township Police Officers strive to exemplify. These two men were then sworn in as Township Officers by Mayor David Mayor and Council President Glen Bianchini. Both men had family members participate in the ceremony by pinning on their badges and holding the Bibles for them.
At the same meeting Chief Earle was pleased to welcome Officer Lisa Hatcher back to the Department after a one year tour of duty overseas. Officer Hatcher Serves Our Nation in the New Jersey Army National Guard. Over the past year she was deployed to Afghanistan, Germany and Kyrgyszstan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Officer Hatcher presented the Department with a “shadow box” containing a United States Flag as well as the Gloucester Township Police Department flag presented to her upon her departure. Both of these flags were flown proudly at the bases where she was stationed during her tour of duty.
