The most elite curling competition in the country, the USA Curling National Championships, made their way to the IceWorks Skating Complex,
February 11-18, just a stone’s throw from Philadelphia in Aston, PA. The week-long competition boasted 21 of the best men’s and women’s teams in the U.S., vying for the national title and an opportunity to compete in the World Championships and Winter Olympics.
Crowds filled IceWorks for the entire week, and media coverage throughout the region was outstanding, generating rave reviews from USA Curling leadership. “The Philadelphia Sports Congress and IceWorks did a tremendous job promoting the Championships,” said USA Curling Executive Director Rick Patzke. “The Philadelphia hosts have helped set new benchmarks for successfully hosting USA Curling championships, and we anticipate bringing more events to this area in the future.”
