MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. - Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi announced that a Hamilton Township, Mercer County man pled guilty today to killing his girlfriend inside of her home in the Bradford Pointe Apartments in Bordentown Township on November 7, 2011.

Noel Irizarry, age 41, of 206 Harrison Avenue in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, admitted to strangling Misty D. Ramos, age 31, inside her apartment at 122 Bradford Court.

Irizarry pled guilty to one count of Aggravated Manslaughter in exchange for 30 years in New Jersey State Prison. Under the No Early Release Act, Irizarry must serve 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

The Hon. Jeanne T. Covert, J.S.C. scheduled sentencing for June 1, 2012. At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, Judge Covert revoked Irizarry’s bail, which had been set at $1 million.

On the day of her death, Bordentown Township police were called to the home of the victim by family members who had become worried that she failed to pick up her child as previously planned.

The investigation revealed that Irizarry and the victim were involved in a romantic relationship. Irizarry had been at her home earlier that day and had strangled her during the course of an argument.

An autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood concluded that the manner of death was homicide and the cause was manual strangulation.

Detectives from the Bordentown Township Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit conducted the investigation.
