The victim’s name is John Corson Jr., 29, of Deptford. According to police, Corson was laying on the tracks. Brooklawn Police Captain Steven Saymon, who crawled under the train to comfort the man said ‘I could speculate that he may not have been in 100 percent condition. “He may have just taken a snooze”. Corson, who lost both legs in the accident, underwent emergency surgery at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

BROOKLAWN, N.J. - Authorities are investigating a train accident that occurred around 11 AM today, Wednesday near the Big Timber Creek train trestile at the border of Brooklawn/Westville. The freight train was heading south into Gloucester County. The man suffered serious injuries after being struck. He was pinned under the train.
Fire crews and medics were called out to the scene and worked to extricate the man from underneath the train.
According to a source the medics/EMT's had to amputate the victims legs. However that information has not been confirmed.
Police along with CONRAIL officials (below) are investigating.
