UPDATE ON FUEL SPILL INCIDENT

The Gloucester Township Police Department and other Emergency Personnel responded to numerous areas surrounding waterways throughout Gloucester Township.  It was discovered that the source of the spill was an underground diesel fuel tank located at the New Jersey Transit Bus Facility on Route 42 in Washington Township, Gloucester County.  The spill has affected the waterways of the Big Timber Creek.  The New Jersey Transit Police and the Washington Township Fire Department are the lead response agencies, and are utilizing hazardous material clean up services to mitigate the situation.  Gloucester Township Police and Emergency Responders are no longer operating at the incident.
