Track & Field Academy Summer Semester for Specialist Certifications

NEW ORLEANS – The 2012 USTFCCCA Track & Field Academy Summer Semester will take place July 7–11 at Rice University in Houston, Texas.   The following courses will be offered:

 

302. Sprint, Hurdle, and Relay Event Specialist Certification.  
303. Jumping Event Specialist Certification.  
304. Throwing Event Specialist Certification.  
305. Endurance Event Specialist Certification.  
306. Combined Event Specialist Certification

 

The five day program offers detailed certification granting courses that cover all issues in technical coaching of the respective event area. Topics include training theory, biomechanics, training components, design and administration, peripheral training concerns, training design, technical issues, and technical teaching.  The course entails 36 hours of instructional time and training program design.  Post-course online testing completes the certification process.  
Applicants must have a minimum of three years of formal track & field and/or cross country coaching experience in a recognized school, club or institutional setting.

 

A maximum of 50 applicants per course will be admitted into the program.

Tuition for the program is $450.00.  There is an optional room and board package available that provides five nights’ on campus accommodations (double occupancy) and meals for $425.00.
