TCNJ athletes lauded by NJAC for weekend performances

 

Ewing, NJ... Six student-athletes from The College of New Jersey earned recognition by the New Jersey Athletic Conference for their performances during the week ending January 15, 2012.

 

The men’s swimming and diving team swept the weekly awards following their tri-meet competition held at West Chester University. Junior Evan Paulan (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) was named NJAC Swimmer of the Week for the first time this season, while senior TJ Burns (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) raked in his fourth Diver of the Week honor. Freshman Aleksander Burzynksi (Colonia, NJ/St. Joseph’s) was cited NJAC Rookie of the Week for the third time.

On the women’s side, senior Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) added to her esteemed career of achievements with her fifth NJAC Swimmer of the Week award. Sophomore Sabrina Lucchesi (Columbus, NJ/Notre Dame) was named conference Diver of the Week for the second time this season.

 

 

Indoor track sprinter Christopher Medina (Lakewood, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. The senior had a pair of top 10 finishes in the NYRR Saturday Night at the Armory.
