Gloucester Township Police Arrest Suspect on Outstanding Warrants

On January 4, 2012 at approximately 5:40 P.M., the Gloucester Township Police Department's Operations Response Unit was conducting proactive enhanced patrols in the area of the LaCascata Townhouse complex, when they observed a subject operating a Green Plymouth Van, who was known to have outstanding warrants for his arrest.

The accused, Ahmad Miller, was observed pulling up to his residence at the 100 block of LaCascata when officers approached him. The officers identified themselves and advised him he was under arrest for the outstanding warrants. Mr. Miller then immediatley fleed on foot and caused officers to pursue him through a court yard and several buildings towards the 7-11 store located on Blackwood-Clementon Road. Mr. Miller refused to heed to the officers commands as he now resisted arrest, causing the officers to utilize their Oleoresin Capsicum or "pepper" spray, that allowed him to be safely taken into custody. Mr. Miller was found in possession of a quantity of a controlled dangerous substance and several hunder dollars of U.S. Currency.

Mr. Miller was charged with Obstruction of Justice, Resisting Arrest, Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was remanded to Camden County Jail on $14,500.00 cash bail.
