Unsolved Crime: Northeast Detectives Division Seeks Help in Identifying Male in Strongarm Robbery in the 15th District

On April 7, 2011 at 3:10pm, a 75 year old white female was walking to the Medical Office at 2813 Cottman Ave. As she approached the rear entrance to the building, an unknown white male called out to her from behind and asked if she knew where a certain street was located. She turned and told him that she was not familiar with that street. At that time the male walked up to her and grabbed the shoulder strap of her pocketbook from her left shoulder. The female tried to hold on to her pocketbook, but the male kept pulling on the strap until he took it from her pulling her down to the ground. The white male fled on foot to Revere St.
Taken was her brown leather pocketbook which contained her wallet, $60.00 in cash, various credit cards, identification and keys.
Suspect Description: White male, 25-30 years of age, approximately 5’6" in height, 160-175 pounds, brown baseball cap with logo on front, blue jeans, white sneakers, grey/orange/white hooded nylon windbreaker jacket. This male is seen operating a dark red sedan possibly a late 1990's Ford or Mercury sedan with a sun roof.
