Police Seek Public's Help in Locating Newborn Infant's Mother

December 22, 2011

On December 21, 2011 at 10:00am, a church employee was cleaning the pavement  on the 2600 block of  West Huntingdon Street when he discovered a card board box that contained various clothing items. The employees searched deeper in the box and discovered an infant inside. He called 911and waited for police and medics.  A Philadelphia Medic transported the infant to Saint Christopher Hospital where the infant was determined to be just a few hours old and weighed 5.5 lbs and appeared to be in good condition with no signs of injuries. The infant was found wrapped in a red and white hounds-tooth patterned blanket, an adult sized brown women's sweater, black bathrobe with polka dots and a large peach colored towel.
