Gloucester City Police Investigating Auto Theft from CW Clarke Car

On 12/16 at 0927 CW Clarke Auto Sales on Route 130 reported that sometime overnight a 1998 Dodge Van, green in color, was stolen from the lot.

In other matters,

On 12/16 at 1310 officers responded to the Dollar General on S. Broadway for a shoplifting.  Store employees stated that an unknown black male stole two bottles of laundry detergent before fleeing the area in a gold vehicle.


On 12/16 at 1956 officers responded to Oriental Ave for a burglary in progress.  The homeowner was inside the residence when the alarm activated.  A window was discovered open, however, no entry was made into the residence. 


On 12/17 at 1459 a resident of the 300 block of Highland Blvd reported that sometime overnight unknown vehicle ran over 2 trees in his side yard. 


On 12/17 at 1022 officers responded to the Budget Inn for a stolen vehicle.  The victim stated that he and a “female acquaintance” had spent the night at the hotel.  When he awoke, his keys, wallet and vehicle were all missing, along with his “female acquaintance.”  The vehicle was located on 12/22 in Willingboro.


On 12/20 at 0048 a male reported that he was robbed while walking on Washington Ave.  The victim stated he was knocked to the ground from behind.  When he awoke his wallet was next to him with money missing.  The  victim stated he was missing the exact amount of money he owed for his fine out of Gloucester City Municipal Court.  The victim could not provide any further information.


On 12/22 at 1700 Alicia Cooklin (36) of the block of Market Street was arrested and charged with Shoplifting after stealing a shopping cart from Family Dollar on S. Broadway.


Additionally, officers responded to 9 domestic violence incidents, 8 motor vehicle accidents and made 11 arrests.
