Gloucester Township: Millbridge Apartments Fire, Several Injuries

On 12-10-2011, at approximately 1430 hours, the Gloucester Township Police Department received numerous 911 calls reporting a building fire in the 600 building of Millbridge Apartments.

Arriving units reported heavy smoke coming from the 2nd floor apartment. All residents of the building were evacuated prior to police and fire department arrival. Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation and two fire fighters were treated for minor burns sustained while battling the fire. The injured victims and one fire fighter were transported to a local hospital and treated and released. The second fire fighter was treated on scene.

The following agencies responded to the incident Chews Landing, Blackwood, Glendora, Runnemede, and Pine Hill Fire Departments along with Gloucester Township E.M.S. and the American Red Cross.

The Fire is currently under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshall’s Office and Chews Landing Fire Marshalls Office.

The three families that were displaced by the fire received assistance from the Camden County chapter of the American Red Cross.
