By adding one more gift card to their lists, shoppers can help feed less-fortunate families this holiday season at Cherry Hill Mall and Moorestown Mall.
CHERRY HILL, NJ- December 21, 2011- Did you know that a $20 donation helps feed a family of four for a week? What is even more shocking is that those are only four people out of the 91,000 that have used an emergency feeding program in South Jersey. This year, Cherry Hill Mall and Moorestown Mall are asking local community members and businesses to help feed these neighbors in need and raise hunger awareness in South Jersey by participating in the Gift Cards for Hunger Campaign.
From now through December 31, purchase a PREIT Mall American Express Gift Card at Cherry Hill Mall or Moorestown Mall to donate to the Food Bank of South Jersey. For a minimum of $20 to a maximum of $300, shoppers can purchase a gift card for donation at Cherry Hill Mall’s Gust Service Center or Moorestown Mall’s Customer Service Center. The Food Bank of South Jersey will use these funds to purchase food and other items to help needy families this holiday season.
“Cherry Hill Mall and Moorestown Mall are proud to partner with the Food Bank of South Jersey to help those in need, especially during the busy holiday season,” said Lisa Wolstromer, senior marketing director at Cherry Hill Mall and Moorestown Mall. “The PREIT Mall American Express Gift Card makes it easy to give our less-fortunate neighbors the holiday family meal they deserve.”
Spending a little extra for a gift card donation can go a long way for the less fortunate families of South Jersey. The Food Bank of South Jersey makes it possible for feeding programs throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties to operate. It accounts for 75 percent of the food used by pantries, 57 percent of kitchens' food, and 48 percent of shelters' food.
