CAMDEN — The investigation is continuing into a shooting Monday that killed a 23-year-old city man in one of Camden’s historically peaceful neighborhoods. Darnell Lopez was shot once in the upper torso around 5:30 p.m. outside a convenience store on the south side of Yorkship Square in Camden’s Fairview neighborhood. No information about a possible motive or suspects has been released. In the only other killing in the Fairview section of the city this year, Vernon Hicks, 30, of Camden, was shot while standing outside on the 1500 block of North Collings Avenue on Oct. 6 shortly before midnight.
