ECAC Names Heine Upstate Rookie of the Year Honor


CENTERVILLE, Mass. (December 21, 2011) – Stevens Institute of Technology’s freshman forward Ann Heine (Sammamish, Wash.) earned her second rookie of the year honor of the year after the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its Division III Upstate Women’s Soccer All-Stars on December 21.


Earlier this season, Heine was named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year for her role in the Ducks’ regular and postseason conference championship.

In her first collegiate season, Heine started in all 20 games she played in and tallied eight goals and four assists for 20 points, ranking second amongst the team in all three categories. Her three game-winning goals tied for the second most for the Ducks as she also received second-team recognition by the Empire 8.

Within the Empire 8, Heine finished tied third in goals, fourth in points and tied for sixth in points per game and goals per game. Heine was also tied for third in game-winners and tied for sixth in assists and assists per game.
