(cnbnews.net) EDITORS NOTE: Seventh and eighth grade students at Alice Costello Elementary School, Brooklawn NJ, have been writing articles for their school newspaper. When CNBNews discovered that they were doing this, we offered to feature one article from each edition on the website. The Alice Costello staff members were asked to vote for the article they thought was best for this honor. Eighth grader Alex R.'s article was chosen! As such he will also receive a $10 gift certificate to Gaetano's Restaurant, Brooklawn compliments of CNBNews. To read the article click the link below...

The Winter Classic is a traditional hockey game played outside. On January 2, 2012, the Philadelphia Flyers will compete with the New York Rangers at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Flyers and the Rangers share a huge rivalry and since Philadelphia and New York are so close many people from New York will show up in Philadelphia just for the hockey game.

The game will be broadcasted on NBC at 1:00 PM. Some players from the Flyers you should watch for are Chris Pronger (the captain), Danny Briere and Kimmo Timonen (the alternate captains). Some players from the Rangers to watch for are Ryan Callahan (their captain), Marc Stall and Brad Richards (the alternate captains).
On the NHL website (www.nhl.com) there are sweepstakes to win four tickets to the game. If you want a chance to bring yourself and three friends or family members to the game, I would enter the sweepstakes and just hope for the best.
If you don’t have the time or money to go to the game just make sure to watch the live broadcast on NBC. This is sure to be a very competitive game, so if you’re a fan of either the Flyers or the Rangers, do yourself a favor and don’t miss it!
