Carneys Point Police Chief Dies

Carneys Point Police Chief Edumund Spinelli, Jr., died suddenly last night of natural PoliceBadge-Mourning causes. The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police released the following statement today.


"It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Carneys Point Police Chief Edmund Spinelli, Jr.

His sudden death came overnight at his home of natural causes. He was 45.

Chief Spinelli began his career in law enforcement in 1988 as a member of the New Jersey State Police. In 1990, he transferred to the Penns Grove Police Department, where he served in both the Patrol and Detective divisions. He then transferred to the Carneys Point Police Department in 1996, where he also served in the Patrol and Detective divisions. Ed took over as Carneys Point Township's sixth chief of police in 2006."
