Gloucester City Cultural Arts and Heritage Society Art Exhibit Saturday at Community Center

 The Gloucester City Cultural Arts & Heritage Society is hosting its Second Annual Art Exhibit at The Gloucester Heights Fire Hall Community Center on Nicholson Road Saturday, November 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  Every month about four or five people have meetings to decide how they can bring enriching programs to Gloucester City.

  They include Helga Stulz, a gifted artist who attended a prestigious Art College in Germany, and Kasie Blagojevich, a new graduate from Moore College of Art who said her first exhibit was with the Gloucester City Cultural Arts. Her medium is oils. Kasie now works on commission, while Helga sells her art and helps out with the society exhibits.

  Rae Whelan is the treasurer who used to work for the Camden County Deeds Office for 40 years, and Craig Burgess is the publicity chair who is an author, poet and retired schoolteacher from Audubon.

  Kelly Sauer is a resident of Gloucester who helps out by volunteering in any way possible. Patricia Marie Simms just joined the group and is looking for ways to help the group, and show her art. She has a background in sales.

  Mary Lou Adams is the founder and director whose medium is acrylics on canvas of the NJ shore and nature. She was the winner of the Camden County Cultural Arts Commission Senior Citizen Art Show in 2009.

, and took Honorable Mention at The Camden County Commissions Contemporary Art Gallery at Hopkins House in 2010. Her medium is acrylics on canvas of the NJ shore and nature. She studied drawing and painting at Gloucester County College. She continues to enter juried art shows.  Her degree is a BA from Thomas Edison State College.

  The featured artists at the exhibit will be: Mary Lou Adams, Acrylic on Canvas; Michael Carlin, Abstract Art, mixed media; George Hoffman, paintings in several mediums; Cheri Stevens, photography; Eisen Martinez, paintings in mixed media; Andrea Hollander, paintings in mixed media; Noreen Merton, paintings of animals in mixed media; Laura Guzzo, paintings in mixed media; Kasie Blagojevich, paintings in oil; Helga Stulz, paintings, mixed media; Patricia Marie Sims, drawings in charcoal, pen and ink; and a young student Francesca Pollander, mixed media.

  Some artists will be creating at the exhibit live. There will be music in the afternoon with light refreshments. The artists will be selling and showing their work.

  The Society meets the fourth Monday of the month, 7:30 p.m., at The Gloucester City Library, which may be changed to a larger meeting area. Call 856-456-1462 to find out more about meetings, or email [email protected].
