Anonymous Tip Leads To Shoplifting

press release

On November 15, 2011 the Gloucester Township Police Department requested assistance in identifying an unknown male via Facebook, a social networking service, and Global Connect, a community and emergency notification service. The male shoplifting suspect was wearing a light blue hooded sweat jacket, black pants, very short hair, mustache and beard. On November 2, 2001 at 9:30 pm, the suspect placed items into his sweat jacket, and fled the area in a newer navy blue Toyota Yaris with New Jersey registration.

Gloucester Township Police Department received an anonymous tip on the Gloucester Township Police Anonymous Tip Line @ 856-842-5560 providing information leading to an arrest. The accused, Kerry Dunn, 26, from Pine Hill was interviewed by detectives and was charged with the shoplifting. He was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

This marks Gloucester Township Police Department's fifth successful investigation via social media. The Gloucester Township Police Department routinely encourages community involvement for without their support these specific crimes would go unsolved.
