Marilyn Stadler McKenney, of Medford, age 80-cnbnews.net

 

6a00d8341bf7d953ef014e8a0db440970d-200wiMarilyn Stadler McKenney of Medford died of natural causes on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2011, in her Naples, Fla. home. She was 80.

Mrs. McKenney, born in Philadelphia, was the eldest of Mary and Joseph Stadler's three daughters.

Raised in Merchantville, N.J., she graduated from St. Mary of the Angels Academy .

She later married Thomas McKenney of Gloucester, N.J., her husband of 45 years with whom she raised four children.

A strong believer in education and the opportunities it provides, Mrs. McKenney worked in the educational field for more than 40 years, most recently with the Katherine Gibbs Schools throughout the Eastern region.

Marilyn was a longtime resident of Medford, and a parishioner of St. Mary of the Lakes Church in Medford, who often volunteered her time there and at the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store.

Marilyn very much enjoyed the company of family and friends and had a lifelong passion for collecting antiques.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Thomas.

She is survived by her beloved sisters: Patricia Mecca of Merchantville, and Frieda Heimbach of Tampa, Fla.; her children: Michele McKenney Cohen and her husband, Chuck of Pittsburgh, Patrice McKenney Magrath and her husband, Terry of Naples, Fla., Greg McKenney and his wife, Joyce of Charlottesville, Va., and Paul McKenney and his wife, Inge of Vienna, Va.; her adoring grandchildren: Michael and Brian Costelloe, Ian and Claire McKenney, and Elsa and Stefan McKenney, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m., and again on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lakes Roman Catholic Church, 40 Jackson Road, Medford. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, N.J.
