Alex Smith, Stephanie Puentes Earn CACC Honorable Mention

Smith scored two goals to lead the Lightning women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over crosstown rival Wilmington University on Tuesday to highlight the week. The Pennsville, N.J. native ranks fifth in the nation in scoring with 13 goals (2.45 per game) and is already second on the school's single-season scoring record with four games left on the schedule.
Puentes, a Bogota, Columbia native, improved to 7-0 at the No. 1 singles spot as she went 2-0 for the week with wins against Post University and Georgian Court. With one remaining CACC match this season today at Chestnut Hill, she is a contender for both the player of the year and rookie of the year awards in the conference, which will be announced on Fri. night at the conference tennis banquet.
