CNBNews.net)The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office today (Friday) charged Sheila Polanski,
33, of Westville with the murder of two-year-old Madeline McHenry, of the 300 block of Bergen Street, Gloucester City.
Polanski, who was babysitting the child, originally told authorities on Tuesday, July 5, that the toddler had been bruised in a series of falls. Polanski later confessed to shaking and throwing the child to the floor after she wouldn’t stop crying, said officials.
Authorities said emergency personnel arrived at the home Tuesday afternoon to find the toddler unconscious and struggling to breathe. She died Thursday.
The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, July 11. Bail was set at $500,000.
