And get in FREE to any Riversharks Game

CAMDEN, NJ—The Camden Riversharks are excited to announce their new partnership with United Way of Camden County.  This partnership was formed to celebrate the way kids play all across our communities, encouraging youth to stay active and fit. Kids under 12 who wear their sports uniform, athletic jersey or activity club t-shirt will get free admittance to Riversharks home games.

“Battling childhood obesity and promoting youth fitness is a huge priority for United Way,” said Michael Moynihan, President of United Way of Camden County. “An easy way to encourage kids to play for 60 minutes a day is to enroll them in an organized sport or activity club that gets them physically active.”

C ampbell’s Field, official home of Riversharks baseball, not only provides a great night of family fun, but it offers kids the chance to exercise. The United Way Fit and Fun Zone is located directly down the first base line and has a variety of activities to get kids moving—a moon bounce, rock climbing wall, inflatable activities and much more. United Way is the official partner of the Fit and Fun Zone as a part of their efforts in Camden County to keep kids healthy and fit.

“United Way is a great partner,” said Adam Lorber, General Manager, Riversharks. “They are all about fitness through fun for children, and that’s what the Riversharks are all about. Where else can you have a night out for baseball that’s affordable and fun, while getting in a little exercise? It’s not rare to see kids running the bases after our games. And thanks to United Way, they can be doing just that in their own jerseys, free of admission charge,” he added.

United Way advances the common good by concentrating on the building blocks for a good life: Education, Income and Health. United Way is working to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic by investing in programs that increase the time that children are physically active, the accessibility of healthy foods and the number of safe places for unstructured play across our communities.

The Camden Riversharks are in their 11th season of professional baseball, presented by Wawa.  The Riversharks will open a three game homestand June 24, 2011 at 7:05 pm vs. the Road Warriors.  The Camden Riversharks are a professional baseball team who play in the independent Atlantic League. Since 2001, the Riversharks host all of their home games at Campbell’s Field, located along the city’s waterfront.   The team provides a competitive baseball product, while maintaining an affordable family friendly atmosphere.  For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 1-866-SHARKS-9 or visit us online at www.riversharks.com.
