Nick Trivelis, of Holland PA. Bucks County, is working toward his Eagle Scout. Nick is 17 years old and attends Council Rock High School South in Bucks County Pennsylvania. He is in Boy Scout Troop #147, Bucks County.
When Nick chose a project he wanted to make a difference. He decided that supporting the men and women in Afghanistan would be the greatest way to show those who are in harms way, that they are not alone and that there is support back home. Nicks exact words about his project were “I wanted my project to be unique and personal and bring the troops some entertainment and a distraction from the horrors of war”. With that, Nick went on a quest and the results are huge.
He reached out to the Yellow Ribbon Club. When given suggestions, he began and completed one of the largest collections that ever took place for the Yellow Ribbon Club. He collected items for care packages in big all out drives. He assembled the packages with the help of his troop. He even raised money to help with the shipping costs.
This Tuesday, June 28th at 5:30pm, Nick and helpers will be delivering 120 boxes to the Yellow Ribbon Club who will ship out his packages on Wednesday, June 29th to all of the military men and women on their (YRC) shipping list. This includes Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy personnel. Together, the YRC and Nick will tape up all of the boxes on site at the drop off location.
The Yellow Ribbon Club would like to publicly thank Nick for his hard work. This is one young man who is making a huge difference in the lives some of our deployed military folks.
