ORANGE BLAZE CLAIMS A VICTIM
April 24, 2011
An early morning fire worked its way through a large duplex structure in Orange leaving one dead and over a dozen homeless.
Orange firefighters were sent to 124 Park Street at about 2:00 AM and arrived to find heavy smoke pushing from the first floor and occupants trapped on a second floor porch of an older large 2 ½ story frame duplex building. Large trees in front of the home made using the stick from Truck 1 impractical, so ground ladders were used to get the people off the porch. On the initial search, a body of a woman was located and removed.
