BELLMAWR NJ: 7 Residents Injured in House Fire


Sunday, April 10, 2011 Task Force 32 was dispatched to 207 Saunders Avenue at 05:59 this morning for a dwelling with reported people trapped.  Squad 32 staffed by members of the Beaver Brook Regional Fire Alliance arrived within four minutes of dispatch. 

First arriving crews were met with heavy fire conditions in a 2 1/2 story wood framed dwelling along with several occupants on the front lawn
300735_thumb suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.  Seven of the occupants were transported to the hospital with one remaining in critical condition.  The fire in under investigation by the Local and County Fire Marshal's Offices.  

The occupants were alerted to the fire by their smoke detectors.  The Bellmawr Fire Department wants to encourage all residents to check their smoke detectors.  Mutual aid from Runnemede, Barrington,Gloucester City and Mt Ephraim assisted at the scene.
