Holiday Wishes from the Bellmawr Boro School Superintendent
Friday, December 24, 2010
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In a continued effort to increase communication and collaboration between school and home, I am sending the following update about our school district.
The Bellmawr School District is hopeful and excited about our after school tutoring programs, which will be in operation from January to April 2011. The tutoring programs will include ESL (English as a Second Language) for grades K thru 8; and Math and Language Arts for grades 1 thru 8. Additionally, for the first time, we will be offering Spanish instruction to students in grades K-4. All students interested are welcome to attend.
The Bellmawr School District understands the need to aid our students and their families to ensure our students are fully prepared for the future. Based on the need for bilingual abilities in the work place, we must give our students the tools to be competitive in our ever changing world. Programs like these will give them a more competitive edge in the workplace and in their pursuit of higher education.
We are also making the ESL program available to the parents of our community who wish to learn English in order to better communicate with the school community. I am hoping that this will open communication between the school district and parents, as well as, create an environment where parents are more comfortable with becoming active members in our school community. If you are interested in being a part of that program, please contact Regina Andrews Collette, our School to Home Liaison.
In these tough economic times, it is sometimes difficult to find ways to ensure our students get every opportunity to practice and build upon the skills taught in the classroom. I am confident that with your continued support, we will find a way. I will do my best to keep you abreast of our needs and our initiatives. I look forward to your feedback and promise to live by the motto Excellence Every Day for Everyone.
Please accept my best wishes for peace and joy this holiday season and a New Year of health, happiness and prosperity.
Sincerely,
Annette Castiglione
Superintendent of Schools
