Ralph Hutchinson, of Westville, Retired Bell Telephone Employee, Former Lions Club President

Hutchinson, Ralph Thomas "Tom", 82, of Westville, passed away on October 3, 2010 with his loving family by his side.

738354_300x300 Tom leaves a legacy of great story telling and interesting conversation that often was flavored with his quick wit and great sense of humor. Born and raised in Woodbury, Tom was a graduate of Woodbury High School with the Class of 1945. He then proudly served his country in the Navy at the end of World War II. Tom met and married Edith Cloud with whom he shared 55 years of marriage and the joy of raising three daughters. Tom worked for N.J. Bell Telephone for more than 35 years and retired in 1985 as a Chief Switchman. Away from his career, Tom enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He was a fan of all sports and as a young man was the assistant coach of the Westville Starlets Softball team for his girls. Tom was also dedicated to his community and served as President during his 37 year membership with the Westville Lions Club and was Chairman of the Westville Zoning Board for many years. Most of all, Tom enjoyed the company of his family, especially when they were able to join him for gatherings at his home at the Jersey Shore. Ralph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
