Letters: A Great Day for the Future of Gloucester City
Tuesday, October 12, 2010
I would personally like to thank the mayor and governing body for their invitation to myself and previous members of council to the grand opening of our new water plant. It is a great day for the future of our city.
Monsignor Curran from your lips to Gods ear in regards to your blessing. There were a lot of people involved in bringing this plant on line to service our city including Fred and his men current and past members of the public works committees and The Infrastructure Trust Fund.
However, there is one person that this administration keeps failing to mention. If it was not for this certain individual our new plant would never had happened.
I am referring to our past city solicitor, Jim Maley. If Jim did not know about a lawsuit against big oil and advised us to join in the lawsuit, we would still be using a plant that has been in service for more than 100 years.
Although the old plant served us well, we, as a City, could not afford to build a new plant even with the help of the trust fund. I just had to set the record straight in regards to all those who helped our City and its future. So a big thank you to all involved, especially Fred and Jim.
Rocky Kormann, Former Councilman, Gloucester City
