Last evening at the Borough Council meeting, Mayor and Council along with Local Fire Officials kicked off this years Fire Prevention efforts by recognizing the last years Fire Prevention poster contest winners. Each student was awarded a savings bond for their efforts. This year's fire prevention open house is being held on Sunday October 10th at the Fire Station on Essex Avenue from 1-4. Remember to check your smoke detectors. If you need assistance with your detectors please contact the Borough Hall at 856-933-1313, leave your information and someone from the Department will gladly come out to help Free of Charge.

Task Force 75 was dispatched to West 4th Avenue for a reported dwelling fire. Chief Moriarty (701) arrived and reported a 2 story wood frame with heavy fire conditions. Engine 75 was first due and led off with a blitz fire, Squirt 32 supplied E-75 and then went into service with the master stream device. crews stayed in a defensive mode due to structural compromise. no injuries were reported.
