August 31...Since Del Monte was also entertaining bids from Penn Terminals in Eddy-stone, Pa., Leo Holt, president of Holt Logistics, Inc., said he was happy to keep the business in South Jersey."It is great for New Jersey and Camden County and City that Del Monte is staying," he said. "They are a company that constantly seeks to improve the quality of their product and its delivery to market. There are over 120 Camden City residents working at the Gloucester Terminal and more to come."

On the labor front, Holt is no friend of ILA after replacing the union with cheaper labor in Gloucester in 1993. Holt continues to use ILA at Tioga. "This is a disgrace for the American people that an employer can pay so little and get away with it," said Mascuilli. "The Holts hold themselves out as a union operation, but all they do is hire scabs."
