WEST LAWN PA (August 8) Brooklawn is two wins away from the American Legion World Series thanks to George Spingler who launched a grand slam and added a pair of two-run doubles to carry the team to an 18-7 victory over Salisbury, Md., in West Lawn, Pa.
Bill Mendek earned the pitching win and Tom Valihka added a triple on the day.
The Brookers take on Chesapeake, Va., at noon today, and, with a victory, will earn a shot at the same team later in the day for the title.
