Barth -- not only in baseball, but in basketball, as well -- joined them to ponder what life might be like without Barth around to spout his many whimsical "isms." Bobby Barth, a Winslow resident, was most recently first-base coach under Dennis Barth at Gloucester Catholic, helping the Rams to their 14th state title on June 5. John Lowe, Barth's stepson, eulogized the man he considered a true father for the 25 years he was married to Lowe's mother, Mary. "For me, he was a family dude, a nice guy -- the nice guy. He did everything for everyone," Lowe said. "He loved Haagen-Dazs ice cream, ate it by the gallon. And if you had any stocks, he'd say, "Sell 'em,' because they'd probably go down," he said.
