Letters: The American Flag Code
Friday, June 25, 2010
While watching parts of the soccer tournament, the cameras zoomed in on several people
showing their support for the U.S.A., wearing the American Flag. Although this is not done to be malicious, it is against the U.S. Flag Code for respect of the flag. It states : The Flag shall never be worn as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery.
( Title 36, U.S.C.,Chapter 10 )
Also, riding around our towns, there are a lot of properties that do not display Old Glory, what a shame. Everyday should be flag day ! Thanks to those who do display it.
