Democrat Incumbent Councilman Nick Marchese…. 493 votes

Independent challenger Wil Levins……                           337 votes

Marchese, center, is pictured with his two running mates, incumbent Councilman Jay Brophy, left, 3rd Ward received 466 votes and Councilman Dan Spencer, 1st Ward received 637.  Spencer replaces Bill Hagen who did not seek re-election.

As for the governor's race, Gloucester City residents favored Gov. Corzine with 1356 votes and challenger Chris Christie 929 votes. 

As for the governors race state wide (9PM) with 17 percent of votes counted Christie is leading Corzine 52 percent to 41 percent.
