During a combined caucus session and regular meeting, the Gloucester City Board of Education at their recent meeting approved a contract adjustment for School Superintendent Paul Spaventa and Business Administrator Margaret McDonnell.
The adjustment will allow the two to carry over as much as 10 days of personal and sick time, instead of the five-day maximum that is currently in the contract.
During reports, Public Information Officer Lynda Lathrop noted that the district has received grant monies which will provide fresh fruit and vegetable snacks for students at Cold Springs School, as well as two kiosks to distribute the healthy goodies.
Board members also worked on completing a board self-evaluation and, prior to the meeting, interviewed prospective candidates to fill the vacant seat on the Board created by the resignation of former member Ray Coxe last month.
The Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, in the Gloucester City High School Media Center.
