LOUISA A. “LOUISE” JOHNSON
Funeral services were held at the Etherington-Creran Funeral Home, 700 Powell St., Gloucester City for Louisa A. “Louise” Johnson (nee Blane), 98, of Bellmawr, previously of Thorofare and Westville, NJ, who passed away on July 5, 2009.
Beloved wife of the late Lester Johnson. Loving mother of Norma Bramble (Carl) of Bellmawr, William T. Johnson (Sheri) of Cherry Hill, and the late Thomas Rausher. Darling grandmother to eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Dear sister of Henry Blane of Charlottesville, VA, and Evelyn Reisser of Cinnaminson, NJ.
During World War II Mrs. Johnson worked for DuPont preparing gunpowder and at NY Ship Building Co. where she worked as a “gopher” as they were building battleships. Mrs. Johnson was a long time member of the Westville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also loved embroidery, crocheting and watching professional golf, especially when Tiger Woods was playing.
Interment was held at Woodbury Memorial Park in West Deptford. In lieu of flowers the family requested Memorial Donations be made to either the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 1060 North Kings Highway, Suite 120, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or Pitman Manor, 535 N Oak Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071.
LOUISE GRACE BLAIR
Funeral services were held for Louise Grace Blair (Nee Dyer), 77, who died peacefully at home in Bellmawr on July 8, 2009.
Beloved wife of 50 years to Leon “Sunny” Blair; best friend of Florence & Carmen Mazzuca of Pennsauken; additionally survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Born & raised in Camden, Grace and her husband have lived in Bellmawr the last 40 years. Mrs. Blair was a clerk for many years at RCA in Camden & later at the Deptford location.
LUCILLE JANET BELFIORE
Funeral Mass was held at St. Teresa’s Church in Runnemede for Lucille Janet Belfiore (nee Testa), 55, of Bellmawr, who died on July 6, 2009. Beloved wife of Joseph R. Devoted mother of Tara, Jonelle and Joseph. Loving daughter of Yolanda Testa (nee Antonelli) and the late Anthony. Dear grandmother of the love of her life, Michael. Loving sister of Anthony (Donna), Michael (Maria), Cindy (Ed) and Albert (Susan). Dear sister-in-law of Joanne Verdecchio (Bill). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Belfiore enjoyed spending time with her family at the shore. She was a volunteer with the Somerset Project for many years, helping those less fortunate. Lucille was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Entombment New St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Bellmawr.
STEVEN S. ROOP
Memorial services were held for Steven S. Roop, 45, of Bellmawr, who died suddenly on July 6, 2009.
He is survived by three daughters, two granddaughters, a sister, Karen (Dennis) Carbonaro, a brother, Albert M. Roop, a niece, Melissa Conroy, a niece-in-law, Nicole Burns, and will be missed by many friends.
Steven loved his music, movies, and fishing.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Philabundance (www.phila-bundance.org) and/or favorite charity.
VIRGINIA D. OWENS
A Funeral Mass was held for Virginia D. Owens (nee Gardner), 87, at Annunciation BVM Church, who died on July 4, 2009, of Vineland, formerly of Bellmawr and Brooklawn. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Richard. Devoted mother of Richard and his wife Theresa and the late Patricia Owens Potts. Grandmother of Jennifer Rourke, Jason Potts, Erin Owens and Marianne Hermann. Great-grandmother of Aidan Rourke and Benjamin Hermann. Sister of the late Claire (Neal) Olsen. Mrs. Owens was a member of the Bellmawr Senior Citizens.
Interment was held privately. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mrs. Owens’ memory to the Bishop McCarthy Nursing Home, 1045 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360.
