DoD Identifies Army Casualty The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Timothy A. David, 28, of Gladwin, Mich., died June 28 in Sadr City, Iraq, of wounds suffered earlier in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Category American Hero

A Catholic high school for Glouco is deferred | Philadelphia Inquirer | 06/26/2009. Walton said the diocese believes the school is needed given population growth in the county. Families also have expressed support for the proposed school, he noted. The on-hold status gives a reprieve to Gloucester Catholic High School, an 81-year-old institution that educates about 750 students and is located in Gloucester City, Camden County. HARRISBURG – Chronic wasting disease (CWD) was not detected in samples taken from hunter-killed deer during the state’s 2008 hunting season, according to Dr. Walt Cottrell, Pennsylvania Game Commission wildlife veterinarian. In 2008, 4,224 samples from hunter-killed deer were tested, and CWD was not detected. This marked the seventh year for testing hunter-killed deer. In total, more than 22,000 deer have been tested. CWD was not detected in any samples from previous years.
