Gloucester City Barber goes strong after 6 decades

His father, Francesco "Frank" Anello Sr., learned the trade after immigrating to New Jersey from southern Italy in 1902 at age 14. He opened his first barbershop in Harrison, then moved to Camden and finally to Gloucester. Frank Anello Jr. was born in January 1924, the same month his father opened shop in downtown Gloucester. He was one of six siblings -- four brothers and two sisters. His father trained all the boys to become barbers.
