State Aid to Gloucester City will Remain the Same

By Albert Countryman Jr.

Gloucester City will not lose any state aid this year.

But, Bellmawr, Brooklawn, Mount Ephraim and Westville will all see a 0.5 percent reduction, according to figures released by the state last week.

Some town officials were relieved state aid cuts were not as severe as expected.

Yet, in these difficult economic times, it will still be difficult to figure out the 2009 municipal budgets.

Gloucester City’s state aid will remain the same as last year at $3,186,788.

Bellmawr will receive $1,444,945 in 2009 state aid, a reduction of $7,266 from 2008’s $1,453,211 figure.

Brooklawn will receive $237,370, a reduction of $1,193 from last year’s $238,563 figure.

Mount Ephraim will receive $492,211, a reduction of $2,473 from last year’s $494,684 figure.

Westville will receive $478,759, a reduction of $2,406 from last year’s $481,165 figure.
