Mt. Ephraim New $ 3 Million firehouse on track
Monday, March 23, 2009
Through the Camden County Improvement Authority, the borough fire department was able to fully finance the project with no down payment. The new firehouse will replace an aging, 50-year-old fire hall with a leaking roof and aging utilities on Bell Road. The inadequate, 60-year-old garage attachment houses fire trucks that barely clear the door by less than 6 inches and allows only 3 feet of room for the firefighters to gear up for calls. An outdated recreation room showcases worn furniture and old display cases hold a few framed memories.
