GLOUCESTER CITY: LOOKING FOR A HOME

Dear Bill and Readers of Clearysnotebook:

Zoe As many people may know Gloucester City runs a TNR program in the city which is run by the Gloucester City Feral Feline Committee. The Committee was formed in 2008 as part of a recommendation from then the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Feral Cats.

The mission of the committee is to help reduce the number of Feral Cats that run wild in the City and pose a health nuisance to the residents of Gloucester City. Last year the committee TNR over 140 cats and placed 17 kittens in homes.

There are many times when we trap that we catch kittens that are young enough to be socialised and put up for adoption. The committee and Abby volunteers care for the kittens and get then spayed/neutered. The committee has an agreement with the Camden County Animal shelter where we take the cats to be spayed/neutered at a low cost.

Along with the low cost spay/neuter surgery the Camden County Animal Shelter provides all the cats with rabies and distemper shots. Currently we have two kittens and one cat that we have been caring for. All three of them are socialised, spayed and neutered, with updated shots that we are trying to find homes for.

Susan They are Zoe who is four months old and grey and orange; Abby who is four months old and Black and orange (they call her a Torti breed) and Susan who is about 1 1/2 years old who is black and white. Are three of them are very sociable and friendly and we would love to see them find a permanent home.

If anyone is interested in adopting one of these kittens or have any questions regarding the committee please contact Tina Vessella, our Coordinator at 856-796-2159 or myself via email at [email protected]. There is no cost involved for adoption.

Sincerely,

John P. Schmidt, GCFFC Chairman
