An ordinance was passed designating the salaries of police officers for 2009 as provided in the collective bargaining agreement with F..O.P. Lodge 76 that were effective January 1, 2009 are as follows; Detective Sergeant $72,314.38; Sergeant $72,314.38; Corporal $67,988.00; Patrol officer top grade $66,770.45; third grade $59,774.62; second grade $56,711.08; first grade $48,669.67; Probationary year patrol officer $34,676.84; Academy recruit $26,851.39. The annual salaries for the following positions, as provided in the specific agreement with the individuals in these positions effective January 1, 2009 are as follows; Chief of Police $93,000.00; Captain $82,482.61.

The hourly salaries provided for in the collective bargaining agreement with Local 2066 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that were effective January 1, 2009 are as follows; Public Works Employees – per hour range from $13.86 to a maximum of $21.76 per hour.

Resolution 01-09 provides a temporary budget for the period between the beginning of the New Year to the adoption of the annual budget.. The amount to be raised by taxation is $1,031,650.00. The amount to be provided from state and federal grant programs is $184,350.00 for a grand total of $1,216,000.00.

Resolution 02-09 adopting a Tax Interest Rate to be charged for nonpayment of taxes or assessment after the due date, shall be fixed at eight percent (8%) per ($1,500.00) of the delinquency and eighteen percent (18%) per annum of any amount in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00). No interest shall be charged of payment of said tax or assessment is made within ten (10) days after the due date upon which the same becomes payable.

Resolution 04-09 adopted is authorizing animal control services for 2009 that is payable to Community Animal Care Services of Collingswood in the annual amount of $3051.24 or $254.27 a month.

Resolution 05-09 adopted is authorizing the signing of an animal shelter services agreement for 2009 that is payable to the Camden County Animal Shelter of Blackwood in the annual amount of $5760.00 or $480.00 a month.

Resolution 06-09 adopted is authorizing Shawn C. Huber, Esquire, a partner of the law firm of Brown & Connery, LLP, currently serves as Municipal Prosecutor for an annual contract price of $500.00 per month for a maximum of $6000.00 per year for a term to expire on December 31, 2009 .

Resolution 07-09 adopted is authorizing the engineering firm of Federici & Akin, PA of Sewell, NJ to provide design, bid inspection services for the reconstruction of Cedar Avenue from Northmont Avenue to Hartka Avenue as funded by the 2009 Municipal Aid Grant through the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation in the total amount of $25,000.00..

Resolution 08-09 adopted is authorizing the engineering firm of Federici & Akin, PA of Sewell, NJ to provide technical services for the acquisition and installation of an emergency generator at the Harding Avenue sewage pump station in the total amount of $11,000.00.

Resolution 10-09 adopted is authorizing the acceptance and execution of a resignation agreement with Police Officer Matthew Garrity who began on or about July 1, 2004 . On or about February 1, 2007 , Officer Garrity submitted an application to the State of New Jersey for an accidental disability pension as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident while on duty.

Director of Safety Commissioner Andy Gilmore Sr. read the following report from Fire Chief Mario Scullan; total calls for the month were 37, total volunteer man hours was 87. The following report was submitted by Police Chief Eddie Dobleman; total case numbers assigned for the month of December was 272. Some highlights were 32 EMS assists, 11 criminal mischief, 12 drugs, 15 harassment, 3 liquor law violations, 15 motor vehicle accidents, 10 thefts, and 16 warrants. Total motor vehicle summons issued were 139. Adult arrests were 45; some highlights were 5 for disorderly conduct, 4 for driving while intoxicating, 8 for hindering apprehension, 9 for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and 2 for shoplifting. 2 juveniles were arrested for simple assault and 43 out of town warrants were served for the month. Municipal court fines collected for the month of November was $24,479.76.

Director of Public Works Commissioner Bruce Greenwald reading the following report from DPW Supervisor Kenny Jones; 97,000 pounds of single stream recycling and collected 171 tons of trash costing $10,902.36 to properly dispose of. Construction Official Steve Beach issued 15 permits collecting $1,678.00 for the month. For physical year 2008, the construction office issued a total of 229 permits collecting $64,722.00.
