Earle R. Nazar, Accomplished Artist, WW II Army Veteran, Bronze Star Recipient

Mr. Earle R. Nazar, a life long resident of Gloucester City, passed away on December 10, 2008, at the age of 89. Mr. Nazar was the beloved husband of Velma E. (nee Ewert) and is also survived by his loving friends Harvey and Debbie Garrison and several dear cousins. Nazar

Earle was an accomplished artist who started drawing during grammar school and continued through High School winning a number of  awards. He utilized his artistic abilities while serving his Country in the Army during WW II. While serving in China Mr. Nazar received a Bronze Star for his work designing original charts and training aids used in the instruction of the Chinese Army in using American military equipment. He also drew many cartoons that were used in both the military and civilian newspapers. After the war he attended the Philadelphia College of Art, where he major in illustration. He started working for RCA in 1954 as a layout artist, and retired as Manager of Art Services. During his tenure at RCA, Mr. Nazar started experimenting with the medium of textured acoustical tiles and watercolors and created a series of paintings that were displayed throughout the RCA Bldg. in Cherry Hill.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church 8th and Division St.s, Gloucester City. Funeral services will be held 11:00am at the Church. Entombment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden will follow. There will be no evening viewing.
