Breaking News: Gloucester City Has Hired a New Administrator

Gloucester City Mayor and Council passed a resolution last night naming 010908_2217_BreakingNew1 Jack Lipsett as the new administrator for the City. Lipsett will receive an annual salary of $95,000. He is presently the administrator of Washington Township in Gloucester County. Lipsett will begin his job with the City on January 5, 2009.

He replaces Paul Kain, who was being paid the same salary for that position along with holding down the job of municipal clerk. Kain, who has tenure as the municipal clerk, will continue in that position at an annual salary of $65,000.

Mayor Bill James said he will release further information on the appointment later today.

According to information found on the Internet,  Lipsett has held the position of Washington Township Business Administrator since 2007. Prior to then he worked for Woolwich Township, where he held the position of Township Administrator since 2006.

Before Woolwich Township, Lipsett was the Township Clerk/Administrator for Southampton Township in Burlington County (June 2000- Sept. 2006). Lipsett has also previously held the position of Business Administrator in Mt. Holly (Aug. 1999- June 2000).

Lipsett holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Widener University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University. He makes his home in Cherry Hill with his wife and two daughters.
