MAAC Announces 2009 Girls in the Game Details

Edison, NJ – The MAAC will once again team up with Siena College to present its annual Girls in the Game program.

 

Girls in the Game is an exciting initiative that aims to involve young girls grade 4-8 in athletics, specifically basketball, at an early age. For just $10, participants are given entrance to four events that make up the Girls in the Game program, including three women’s basketball contests.

 

On Sunday, December 14th Coach Gina Castelli and her Saints squad will present a basketball clinic at UHY Court at the Alumni Recreation Center, on the campus of Siena College. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

 

The featured games will be played on Friday, January 9 and Friday, January 16. On Friday the 9th, Siena College will take on the Rider Broncs at the Times Union Center in Albany at 4:30 p.m. One week later, the Saints return to UHY Court to face Iona College, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

 

The pinnacle of the Girls in the Game program is the MAAC Women’s Championship game, which is slated for a 12:00 p.m. start on Sunday, March 8th at the Times Union Center.

 

Tickets for Girls in the Game will be available at the door, or can be purchased by filling out and sending in the form located here.
