Mary Vasella (nee Iacovone) age 106 years of Paulsboro died after a brief illness Friday November 28, 2008 in her daughter’s home where she lived. Mrs. Vasella was born in Philadelphia and lived in East Camden for several years before moving to Paulsboro 30 years ago. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Vasella was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Paulsboro. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cryptograms and playing cards. Ralph Giordano our beloved dad and pop-pop, Ralph Giordano, of Carneys Point, NJ, passed away on November, 26 2008 at the age of 98. Born Raffaele in Salerno, Italy August 29, 1910 to the late Angelo and Maria Giordano, he immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island in 1913 later settling in South Philadelphia. At the age of 17, he crossed the river into Salem County, NJ where he lived and worked ever since. PA Game Commission Confirms Serval Killed in Chester County

Media release HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife Conservation Officers (WCOs) confirmed today that a serval, an exotic cat from Africa that resembles a small cheetah, was killed the evening of Nov. 25, along Garrett Mill Road in Willistown Township, Chester County. Montgomery County WCO Chris Heil received a call from a farm manager for a local farm about an exotic cat that was in his chicken coop killing chickens. Tips and Snippets: Did a 911 Dispatcher send a Rescue Crew to the wrong address?

Earlier in the week I received the following information from a CNB reader in regards to our November 17 story about Evan Goldglantz who was injured in an accident at his home on Division Street, Gloucester City. Bill, It appears that 911 dispatchers botched the call and sent the Camden City Fire Department to Division Street in Camden. It was not until the dispatch came back as incorrect that the proper authorities were sent to help this man on Division St. in Gloucester City. This delay could have exacerbated this man's condition. The Corzine administration sought court approval of a new state school financial aid formula. 3 'dangerous' chemical plants in S.J.

Link: Courier-Post. The five New Jersey plants the report identified are: Valero Refining Co. petroleum refinery in Paulsboro, which uses hydrofluoric acid to turn crude oil into gasoline. The Thorofare plant in West Deptford, which uses hydrofluoric acid to make other chemicals. DuPont Chambers Works plant in Deepwater, which uses chlorine gas to make polymers.
