The Gloucester City School District is hosting the first of its strategic planning meetings on September 24, at 7 pm in the ME Costello School Auditorium. The District has embarked on creating a strategic plan for the schools.
Gloucester City Board of Education has contracted with NJ School Board Associates to facilitate the process. The process will include creating a vision for the future of Gloucester City Public Schools and managing toward that expectation. The finalized plan will involve operating under a mission statement umbrella that focuses the District's efforts. It is also an effective process to align short term decisions with long term goals.
Three big questions will be asked of those who volunteer to work on this plan: Where are we (the school district) today, where do we want to be in the future and what should we be focused on in order to make sure we get there? Community wide input is needed for this process to be effective. This initial "kick off" is designed to explain and define the process, the roles and the timelines in order to gain community understanding and commitment.
The meeting is open to all residents.
